There was once a powerful jewel. The jewel had magical powers and in the hands of good, it allowed wishes to be granted. Within one person, a spirit was strong enough to active this jewel. But-- in the hands of evil, it will cause chaos and destruction among everything.
Thousands of years ago, two people had found the jewel, but their actions were different. One wanted goodness, while the other wanted evil. The jewel--being conflicted, exploded into fragments, being lost.
In the city of Aoikawa, the beholder of the spirit belongs to a young girl named Megumi. But, her memory was mysteriously wiped clean by a sorceress named Mori Momento.
Within the city are people that know of the legend of the jewel and search for the lost fragments to bring them together.
